Shake Main Stage Full Size.jpg

Shake was founded in 2003 by Director Rachel King with one aim - to bring the very best street dance training to the South Coast. Following years of travelling to London as well as trips to LA, New York and Europe to access high level training, Rachel wanted to create a home base for dancers in the South Coast.

Now with thanks to a dedicated community of hugely talented dancers, teachers, choreographers and partners we believe training at Shake is amongst the best in the UK.

Dancers training at Shake are offered regular opportunities to perform and compete. Our performance highlights include Breakin’ Convention UK Tour, Move It, Rock Assembly at Wembley Arena, Netball London Live at Copperbox Arena, Britain’s Got Talent, Got To Dance, Diversity UK Tour, BBC and ITV News and All Stars The Movie. Our dancers and crews compete on a regional, national and international level including championships in Germany, Denmark and Mallorca, in August 2019 Shake were crowned UDO Super Crew World Champions.

Our dancers also work towards in-house performances for family and friends and are proud to take part in many local community events throughout the year. Performing and competing is always optional, we have many dancers training with us simply for fun, friendship and fitness.

Our classes are always fun with an open and comfortable environment to learn. Our teachers bring a wealth of knowledge, energy and passion inspiring dancers to reach their full potential.

Our classes are open to everyone whether wishing to dance as a fun hobby or with the aim of a professional dance career. Starting from age 4 our street dance classes cover a variety of styles including locking, popping, house, hip hop and commercial choreography. Breakdance is taught in its own dedicated classes.

Free trial classes are available throughout the term. Please contact us to check availability as some classes are currently full with a waiting list.
